Between 1984 to 1986, Hockney created the “Moving Focus” series — a group of 29 prints that are unified by depictions of space and multipoint perspectives. The series includes images of interiors, chairs, vases with flowers, views from a hotel, and portraits. “Celia with Green Hat”, a lithographic portrait of Celia Birtwell, is among the most visually striking works in the series, catching her in an elegant pose inspired by the prints of Matisse.
