The
Susan Sheehan Gallery specializes in limited edition prints and works on paper of the Post-War period, including
Abstract Expressionism,
Pop Art, and
Minimalism. In our online gallery, and in our New York City location, you’ll find the most historically important prints by Abstract Expressionists such as
Willem de Kooning and
Jackson Pollock, Pop Artists like
Jasper Johns and
Andy Warhol, and Minimalists such as
Donald Judd and
Ellsworth Kelly. The gallery is also pleased to represent the Print Collection of the
Joan Mitchell Estate.
In our
Publication section you’ll find catalogues and brochures from many of our previous shows, including the most comprehensive catalogue on the prints of
John McLaughlin and the catalogue raisonné of
Robert Indiana’s graphic work.
Apart from our holdings of limited edition prints we also have unique works—especially works on paper—available by many of the artists we list on our site. Of particular note in this regard is our vast collection of unique Pre-Pop
Warhol material. These drawings and hand-colored prints, made prior to 1962 when Warhol was still making his living as a commercial illustrator, comprise a distinct subset of Warhol’s output. We invite you to visit the
Artists section of our website to preview this work, and for a more extensive discussion of this material.
